The Johnston's
Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear · Orangery · Completed October 2024
Project overview
A contemporary orangery in Whitley Bay, designed to bring light and garden views deep into the heart of the home. A slim-profile glass roof lantern crowns the room, while anthracite bi-folding doors open the lounge and dining space fully onto the patio. Red brickwork and clean rendered plinths tie the extension neatly into the existing house, and the open-plan interior — with warm wood-effect flooring and layered lighting — delivers a calm, architectural family space that works in every season. Completed on 6 October 2024.
“From the first design meeting to the final handover, everything was handled with real care. The 4D design meant we knew exactly what we were getting, and the finished orangery has completely transformed how we use our home — bright, warm and open to the garden all year round. The team were tidy, courteous and communication was excellent throughout. We could not recommend Alpine highly enough.”
